How To Make Seafood Newburg

Seafood newburg is a rich and creamy shrimp dish with paprika and dry sherry. It's great served on top of noodles or rice.

  • ¼ cup butter
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp salt
  • cup milk
  • ¼ cup dry sherry
  • 1 paprika, pinch
  • 3 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 Worcestershire sauce, dash
  • 6 oz shrimp, (2 cans), drained


  1. Combine butter, flour and salt in a saucepan. Cook for 2 minutes. Slowly pour in milk and bring mixture to a boil.

  2. Stir sherry into the mixture (to taste), paprika, catsup and Worcestershire sauce. Place seafood in the saucepan and heat thoroughly.

  3. Serve hot.
