How To Make Fish Pie Fillets

Ingredients

  • 4 fish fillets (such as cod, haddock, or salmon)
  • 700g potatoes, peeled and chopped
  • 50g butter
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 200ml fish stock
  • 150ml double cream
  • 100g frozen peas
  • 100g grated cheddar cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

  2. Boil the potatoes in salted water until tender. Drain and mash with butter until smooth. Set aside.

  3. In a large pan, melt some butter and sauté the onion and garlic until softened.

  4. Add the fish stock and bring to a simmer. Add the fish fillets and poach for 5 minutes.

  5. Remove the fish from the pan and flake it into chunks.

  6. Mix the flaked fish, double cream, peas, and half of the grated cheese into the pan with the onions and garlic. Season with salt and pepper.

  7. Spoon the fish mixture into a baking dish and top with the mashed potatoes. Spread it evenly and fluff it up with a fork.

  8. Sprinkle the remaining grated cheese over the mashed potatoes.

  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbling.

  10. Serve hot and enjoy!
