How To Make Fish Pie with Pea & Dill Mash

Ingredients

  • 500g white fish fillets
  • 200g peeled and deveined prawns
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 2 cups mashed potatoes
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh dill
  • 1 tbsp plain flour
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 cup fish stock
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).

  2. In a large pan, melt butter over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, and cook until softened.

  3. Add flour to the pan and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.

  4. Gradually stir in fish stock and milk, and cook until thickened.

  5. Add fish fillets and prawns to the pan, and simmer for 5 minutes or until cooked through. Season with salt and pepper.

  6. Stir in frozen peas and chopped dill, and cook for another 2 minutes.

  7. Transfer the fish mixture to a baking dish.

  8. Spread the mashed potatoes over the top of the fish mixture, creating an even layer.

  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden and the pie is bubbling.

  10. Serve hot and enjoy!
