How To Make Clam Fritters

Ingredients
- 1 pound fresh clams, shucked
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 1/4 cup minced onion
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 egg, beaten
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions

Rinse the shucked clams under cold water and pat them dry.

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and black pepper.

Add the chopped parsley and minced onion to the flour mixture and stir well.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk and beaten egg. Pour the mixture into the flour mixture and stir until well combined.

Gently fold in the shucked clams.

Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan or pot until it reaches 350°F (180°C).

Drop spoonfuls of the clam fritter batter into the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pan.

Fry the fritters for about 2-3 minutes per side or until golden brown. Remove them from the oil and drain on paper towels.

Serve the clam fritters hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
