Baked Fish with Creole Sauce Recipe

This simple baked fish still gets lots of flavor from a homemade spicy Creole sauce.

Ingredients

  • ¾ lb fresh fish fillets, or 1 ½ lb. whole fish, or frozen fillets
  • ½ small onion, chopped
  • small green pepper, thinly sliced
  • 8 oz tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • tsp pepper

Instructions

  1. Thaw fish if frozen.
  2. Rinse fish in cool water.
  3. Drain well.
  4. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

  5. Place fish in 9x9x2-inch baking pan.

  6. Mix together onion, green pepper, tomato sauce, chili powder, and salt and pepper in a small bowl

  7. Pour over fish and make sure to rub it on both side of the fish.

  8. Cover pan and bake until fish flakes easily with fork (20-30 minutes for fillets, 30-40 minutes for whole fish.)
