Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 inch piece of ginger, grated
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon red chili flakes
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh cilantro, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix together the minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, honey, rice vinegar, red chili flakes, and salt.

  2. Place the salmon fillets on a heatproof plate and pour the marinade over the top, making sure to evenly coat each fillet.

  3. Heat water in a steamer or a large pot fitted with a steaming rack. Once the water is boiling, place the plate with the salmon into the steamer, cover, and steam for about 10-15 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.

  4. Remove the plate from the steamer and garnish with freshly chopped cilantro.

  5. Serve the aromatic steamed salmon hot with steamed rice or vegetables.
