Ingredients

  • 1 lb flank steak, sliced
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 6 cups mixed salad greens
  • 1 red onion, sliced
  • 1 avocado, diced
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1 jalapeño, seeded and diced
  • 1/4 cup cilantro, chopped
  • Juice of 2 limes
  • 1/4 cup olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.

  2. In a small bowl, combine the cumin, chili powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Rub the mixture onto the sliced flank steak.

  3. Grill the steak for 4-5 minutes on each side, until medium-rare. Remove from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing into thin strips.

  4. For the salad, combine the mixed greens, red onion, avocado, cherry tomatoes, jalapeño, and cilantro in a large bowl.

  5. In a small bowl, whisk together the lime juice, olive oil, salt, and pepper to make the dressing.

  6. Add the sliced steak to the salad and drizzle with the dressing. Toss to combine.

  7. Serve immediately.
