Ingredients

  • 2 pounds pork belly
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).

  2. Score the skin of the pork belly using a sharp knife, making diagonal cuts about 1 inch apart.

  3. Rub the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika all over the pork belly, including the scored skin.

  4. Heat the vegetable oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat.

  5. Place the pork belly, skin side down, in the skillet and cook for 5 minutes or until the skin starts to crisp up.

  6. Flip the pork belly and cook for an additional 5 minutes to sear the other side.

  7. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and roast for 1 hour and 45 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).

  8. Remove the pork belly from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.

  9. Serve the crispy roast pork belly hot and enjoy!
