
How To Make Saffron Rice with Cashews and Raisins

- 1½cupsbasmati rice
- 2¼cupswater
- 1cinnamon stick
- 5cloves
- 2bay leaves
- ¼tspsaffron threads,crumbled
- 1tspsalt
- 2tbspbutter
- ¼cupcashews,chopped
- ¼cupraisins
Instructions

Rinse the rice until the water runs clear. Put the rice in a medium saucepan with the water, cinnamon stick, cloves, bay leaves, saffron, and salt.

Bring to a boil, reduce the heat to low, and cook, covered, for 15 minutes.

Remove from the heat and let sit for 10 minutes, without removing the lid. With a fork, gently stir in the butter, cashews, and raisins.
