How To Make Persian Rice Recipe

Ingredients
- 2 cups Basmati rice
- 4 cups water
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp saffron threads
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1/4 cup yogurt
Instructions

Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.

In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Add the rice and salt. Cook for 5 minutes, then drain.

In a small bowl, soak the saffron threads in 2 tbsp of hot water for 10 minutes.

In the same pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add 1/3 of the rice and flatten it to cover the bottom.

Sprinkle half of the saffron water over the rice. Repeat with another layer of rice and saffron water.

Finally, add the remaining rice and pour the melted butter over the top.

Cover the pot with a tight-fitting lid and cook on low heat for 30-35 minutes, or until the rice is tender and golden.

In a small bowl, mix the yogurt with a pinch of salt.

Serve the Persian rice hot with the yogurt sauce on the side.
