  • 4 cups of water or chicken broth

Instructions

  1. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.

  2. In a medium-sized pot, bring the water or chicken broth to a boil.

  3. Add the rice and salt to the boiling liquid and give it a quick stir.

  4. Lower the heat to low and cover the pot with a lid.

  5. Cook the rice for 15 minutes or until all the liquid is absorbed.

  6. Remove the pot from heat and let it sit, covered, for an additional 5 minutes.

  7. Fluff the rice with a fork and add butter if desired.
