Ingredients

  • 8 oz spaghetti
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 onion, chopped
  • 1/2 lb ground beef
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • grated Parmesan cheese for serving
  • fresh basil leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook spaghetti according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add garlic and onion, and sauté until fragrant.

  3. Add ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned.

  4. Stir in diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, dried basil, dried oregano, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.

  5. Add cooked spaghetti to the skillet and toss to coat with the sauce.

  6. Serve hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese and garnished with fresh basil leaves.
