Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground venison
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup onion, diced
  • 1/4 cup green bell pepper, diced
  • 1/4 cup celery, diced
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. In a large bowl, mix together ground venison, breadcrumbs, milk, onion, bell pepper, celery, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and black pepper until well combined.

  3. Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it into a greased loaf pan.

  4. In a small bowl, combine ketchup, brown sugar, and Dijon mustard. Spread this mixture evenly over the top of the meatloaf.

  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).

  6. Remove from the oven and let the meatloaf rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
