How To Make Hamburger and Rice Dinner

A quick an easy recipe to include in your weekly dinner line-up! This delicious hamburger and rice recipe has all the components of a perfect meal – meat, vegetables and carbs.

  • 1 lb hamburger
  • 1 onion, small, coarsely chopped
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 3 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 cup frozen corn
  • 1 cup tomatoes, chopped
  • 16 oz tomato paste
  • 1 cup instant rice
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 ½ cups water


  1. Brown hamburger and onion and garlic.
  2. Drain any fat. This encourages the hamburger to brown.

  3. Add back to pan, add remaining ingredients.
  4. Put lid on pan over medium heat for 15 minutes, stirring frequently.
  5. Will thicken as cooks.
