Ingredients

  • 1 lb pasta
  • 1 lb ground sausage
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook the pasta according to the package instructions, then drain and set aside.

  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground sausage, breadcrumbs, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, parsley, garlic, egg, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until evenly combined.

  3. Roll the sausage mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter. Place the sausage balls in a greased baking dish.

  4. Pour the marinara sauce over the sausage balls, spreading it evenly. Top with the cooked pasta and sprinkle with extra mozzarella cheese, if desired.

  5. Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Then, remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  6. Allow the pasta bake to cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with additional chopped parsley, if desired.
