How To Make Ground Beef and Potato Casserole Recipe

Hearty and flavorful casserole made with ground beef and potatoes in a creamy sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 large potatoes, peeled and sliced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.

  2. Brown ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat, breaking up any clumps.

  3. Add onion and garlic and cook until softened.

  4. Add paprika, thyme, salt and black pepper and stir to combine.

  5. Stir in beef broth and bring to a boil.

  6. Reduce heat and let simmer for 5 minutes.

  7. Add sliced potatoes and stir to coat in the sauce.

  8. Transfer mixture to a casserole dish and pour cream over the top.

  9. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.

  10. Remove foil, sprinkle cheese on top, and return to oven for another 10-15 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
