How To Make Chili Casserole

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (6 oz) tomato paste
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp oregano
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Optional toppings: sour cream, chopped green onions, diced tomatoes

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain any excess grease.

  3. Add the diced onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until the vegetables are tender.

  4. Stir in the diced tomatoes, kidney beans, black beans, tomato paste, beef broth, chili powder, cumin, paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper.

  5. Simmer the chili mixture for about 15 minutes, until the flavors have melded together.

  6. Transfer the chili to a greased casserole dish. Top with the shredded cheddar cheese.

  7. Bake the casserole for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  8. Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving.

  9. Serve with optional toppings such as sour cream, chopped green onions, and diced tomatoes.
