How To Make Southern Pulled Pork Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs pork shoulder, boneless
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
  • 4 hamburger buns

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix together the paprika, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper to create a spice rub.

  2. Rub the spice mixture evenly over the pork shoulder, making sure to cover all sides.

  3. Place the seasoned pork shoulder in a slow cooker and pour in the chicken broth.

  4. Cook on low heat for 8 hours, or until the pork is tender and easily shreds with a fork.

  5. Remove the pork from the slow cooker and shred using two forks.

  6. Return the shredded pork to the slow cooker and stir in the barbecue sauce.

  7. Cook on low heat for an additional 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.

  8. Serve the pulled pork on toasted hamburger buns and enjoy!
