Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup lime juice
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 pound chicken or beef, thinly sliced
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 bell pepper, thinly sliced

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together lime juice, olive oil, minced garlic, cumin, chili powder, paprika, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.

  2. In a separate dish, place the sliced chicken or beef, onion, and bell pepper.

  3. Pour the marinade over the meat and vegetables, and toss to coat.

  4. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or up to overnight.

  5. When ready to cook, heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat.

  6. Remove the meat and vegetables from the marinade and discard any excess.

  7. Cook the meat and vegetables until they are cooked through and slightly charred, about 5-7 minutes.

  8. Serve the fajita filling in warm tortillas with desired toppings, such as sour cream, guacamole, and salsa.
