How To Make Barbecued Fajita Steak

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs flank steak
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 4 tortillas

Instructions

  1. Preheat grill to medium-high heat.

  2. In a small bowl, combine olive oil, lime juice, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, paprika, salt, black pepper, onion powder, and cayenne pepper (if using). Mix well.

  3. Place flank steak in a resealable bag and pour the marinade over it. Close the bag and massage the marinade into the steak. Let it marinate for at least 10 minutes or up to overnight.

  4. Grill the steak for about 4-6 minutes per side, or until desired doneness. Remove from grill and let it rest for 5 minutes.

  5. While the steak is resting, grill the bell pepper and onion slices until they are tender and slightly charred.

  6. Slice the steak against the grain into thin strips.

  7. Warm the tortillas on the grill for about 30 seconds on each side.

  8. Serve the sliced steak, grilled bell peppers, and onions on the tortillas. Serve with your favorite fajita toppings such as sour cream, guacamole, and salsa.
