How To Make BBQ Pork Sandwiches

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds of pork shoulder
  • 1 cup of BBQ sauce
  • 1/4 cup of brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of paprika
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon of onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 4 hamburger buns

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill or smoker to 225°F.

  2. In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper to create a dry rub.

  3. Rub the dry rub all over the pork shoulder, ensuring it is evenly coated.

  4. Place the pork shoulder on the grill or smoker and cook for 4 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 195°F.

  5. Once cooked, remove the pork shoulder from the grill or smoker and let it rest for 15 minutes.

  6. Use two forks to shred the pork shoulder.

  7. In a saucepan, heat the BBQ sauce over medium heat until warmed through.

  8. Add the shredded pork to the saucepan and stir until it is evenly coated in BBQ sauce.

  9. Toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in a toaster.

  10. Place a generous portion of the BBQ pork onto each bun.

  11. Serve the BBQ pork sandwiches with additional BBQ sauce, if desired.
