  • 4 large potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish with butter.

  2. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the dish, overlapping slightly. Sprinkle with half of the minced garlic, salt, and pepper.

  3. Sprinkle half of the grated cheese over the potatoes. Repeat another layer with the remaining potatoes, garlic, salt, pepper, and cheese.

  4. Pour the heavy cream evenly over the top layer and dot with butter.

  5. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 1 hour. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 20 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.

  6. Allow the dish to cool for a few minutes before serving.
