How To Make Peppercorn and Mushroom Sauce

A creamy sauce with the added kick of peppercorns and the earthy flavor of mushrooms.

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp whole peppercorns
  • Salt, to taste

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.

  2. Add the onions and cook until soft and translucent.

  3. Add garlic and mushrooms. Cook until mushrooms are soft.

  4. Crush the peppercorns either using a mortar and pestle or a rolling pin and add them to the saucepan. Mix well.

  5. Add heavy cream and bring to a boil.

  6. Lower the heat and let it simmer for a few minutes.

  7. Season with salt.

  8. Serve hot and enjoy with your favorite meat or vegetable dishes.
