Ingredients

  • 6 cups of bread cubes
  • 1 large apple, chopped
  • 1/2 cup of cooked sausage, crumbled
  • 1/2 cup of chopped onion
  • 2 tbsp of butter
  • 1/4 cup of chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/2 tsp of dried sage
  • 1/2 tsp of dried thyme
  • 1/2 tsp of salt
  • 1/4 tsp of ground black pepper
  • 1 cup of chicken broth

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.

  2. In a large bowl, mix together bread cubes, chopped apple, cooked sausage, and chopped onion.

  3. In a medium saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add in the parsley, sage, thyme, salt, pepper, and chicken broth. Stir together until combined.

  4. Pour the herb mixture over the bread mixture and stir until the bread is moistened.

  5. Transfer the stuffing mixture to a baking dish and cover with foil.

  6. Bake for 30 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until golden brown.
