How To Make Herby Sausage, Apple & Sourdough Stuffing
Stuffing is a great add-on to your main dishes. More than just something to fill the turkey with during Thanksgiving, stuffing is a wonderful side dish to complement your dish of choice. There’s no stopping you in enjoying this stuffing recipe!

Ingredients
- 1 lb herby sausage, casings removed
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 celery stalks, diced
- 2 apples, peeled, cored, and diced
- 4 cups sourdough bread, cubed
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tbsp fresh sage, chopped
- 1 tbsp fresh thyme, chopped
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a large skillet, cook the herby sausage over medium heat until browned and crumbled. Remove from skillet and set aside.

In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté onion and celery until they start to soften, about 5 minutes.

Add apples and continue to cook for an additional 3 minutes.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked sausage, sautéed vegetables, sourdough bread cubes, parsley, sage, and thyme.

Gradually pour in the chicken broth until the mixture is moistened but not soggy. Season with salt and pepper.

Transfer the stuffing mixture to a greased baking dish and cover with foil.

Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes. Then remove foil and bake for another 10 minutes until the top is golden brown and crispy.

Serve the herby sausage, apple, and sourdough stuffing as a side dish or as a main course.
