How To Make Yvonne’s Collard Greens Recipe
A savory southern-style dish of collard greens cooked with bacon and spices.
Serves:
Ingredients
- 1 bunch of collard greens, washed and stemmed
- 4 slices of bacon, cut into small pieces
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/2 tsp of salt
- 1/4 tsp of black pepper
- 1/4 tsp of red pepper flakes
- 1 cup of chicken broth
Instructions

Heat a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat.

Add bacon and cook until it starts to brown.

Add onion and garlic and cook until onion is translucent.

Add collard greens and stir until they start to wilt.

Add salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Stir well.

Pour in chicken broth and bring to a boil.

Reduce heat and let simmer for 30-40 minutes, or until the collard greens are tender.
