How To Make Spiced Red Cabbage with Prunes

Ingredients
- 1 small red cabbage, thinly sliced
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1 cup prunes, pitted and halved
- 1/4 cup red wine vinegar
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions

Heat the olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the onion and cook for 5 minutes until softened.

Add the red cabbage to the pan and cook for another 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Stir in the cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and cloves. Cook for 2 minutes to infuse the flavors.

Add the prunes, red wine vinegar, and brown sugar to the pan. Season with salt and pepper.

Reduce the heat to low and cover the pan. Simmer for 30 minutes, or until the cabbage is tender, stirring occasionally.

Remove from heat and let it sit for a few minutes before serving.
