Ingredients

  • 1 small pumpkin, peeled and seeds removed
  • 4 potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Gruyere cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. Slice the pumpkin into thin half-moon slices.

  3. In a greased baking dish, layer the pumpkin slices and potato slices.

  4. In a small saucepan, warm the heavy cream, garlic, salt, pepper, and nutmeg over medium heat.

  5. Pour the cream mixture over the pumpkin and potatoes.

  6. Sprinkle the grated Gruyere cheese on top.

  7. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes.

  8. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.

  9. Let the gratin cool for a few minutes before serving.
