How To Make Japchae
Who says vegetarians don’t get to enjoy savory meals? A taste of these authentic vegetarian recipes will make you change your mind. So, you just might want to go vegetarian after your first bite.
Serves:
Ingredients
- 8 ounces of Korean sweet potato noodles (dangmyeon)
- 8 ounces of beef (sirloin or ribeye), thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons of sesame oil
- 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 2 carrots, cut into matchsticks
- 4 ounces of spinach
- 4 ounces of mushrooms (shiitake or white button), sliced
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon of sugar
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 green onions, thinly sliced
Instructions

Cook the sweet potato noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and rinse with cold water. Set aside.

In a bowl, marinate the beef with soy sauce and sesame oil. Set aside for 10 minutes.

Heat vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over medium heat. Add the onion and carrots, and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until they start to soften.

Add the spinach, mushrooms, and garlic. Stir-fry for another 2 minutes until the spinach wilts.

Push the vegetables to one side of the pan and add the marinated beef. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the beef is cooked through.

Add the cooked noodles to the pan and toss everything together. Season with sugar, salt, and pepper.

Stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes until the noodles are well combined with the vegetables and beef.

Remove from heat and garnish with green onions.

Serve hot and enjoy!
