Ingredients

  • 1 pound of potato gnocchi
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14 ounces) of crushed tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon of dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon of dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil leaves, for garnish
  • Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the gnocchi according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.

  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.

  3. Pour in the crushed tomatoes and stir in the dried basil and oregano. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  4. Simmer the sauce for about 10 minutes, until it has thickened slightly.

  5. Add the cooked gnocchi to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, until heated through.

  6. Serve the gnocchi pomodoro garnished with fresh basil leaves and grated Parmesan cheese.
