How To Make Cheesy Bean Burgers

Ingredients
- 1 can (15 oz) of black beans, drained and rinsed
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs
- 1/4 cup diced onion
- 1/4 cup diced red bell pepper
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 burger buns
- Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato, avocado, mayonnaise
Instructions

In a large bowl, mash the black beans with a fork until mostly smooth.

Add bread crumbs, onion, bell pepper, garlic, cheddar cheese, Parmesan cheese, cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper to the bowl. Mix until well combined.

Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty.

Heat a bit of oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for 5-6 minutes on each side, until golden brown and heated through.

Toast the burger buns if desired.

Serve the bean burgers on the buns and top with your favorite toppings.
