How To Make Homemade Black Bean Veggie Burgers

Ingredients
- 1 can (15 oz) black beans, rinsed and drained
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 1/4 cup finely chopped bell pepper
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 4 burger buns
- Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato, avocado, onion
Instructions

In a large bowl, mash the black beans using a fork or potato masher until they are mostly mashed but still have some texture.

Add bread crumbs, onion, bell pepper, garlic, cumin, paprika, salt, black pepper, and cilantro to the bowl. Mix well to combine.

Form the mixture into 4 patties, about 1/2-inch thick.

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for about 5 minutes on each side, until they are golden brown and crispy.
