How To Make Vegan Portobello Mushroom Burger Recipe

This burger is plant-based and features a hearty portobello mushroom as the patty.

Ingredients

  • 4 portobello mushroom caps
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper
  • 4 burger buns
  • Toppings of your choice (lettuce, tomato, onion, avocado, etc.)

Instructions

  1. Preheat grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.

  2. Clean mushrooms and remove stems.

  3. In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, balsamic vinegar, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.

  4. Brush mixture onto mushroom caps, making sure to coat both sides.

  5. Place mushrooms onto grill and cook for 5-7 minutes per side, until tender.

  6. Toast burger buns on grill for 1-2 minutes.

  7. Assemble burger with mushroom cap, toppings of your choice, and burger bun.

  8. Serve hot.
