How To Make Sweet Chilli Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of red chili peppers, chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 1/4 cup of rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/4 cup of water
  • 1 tablespoon of cornstarch, mixed with 2 tablespoons of water

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the chopped chili peppers, minced garlic, sugar, rice vinegar, soy sauce, salt, and water.

  2. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes.

  3. In a separate bowl, mix the cornstarch with water to create a slurry.

  4. Gradually add the cornstarch mixture to the saucepan, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens.

  5. Remove from heat and let the sauce cool before transferring it to a jar or bottle for storage.

  6. Serve the sweet chili sauce with your favorite dishes as a dipping sauce or marinade.
