How To Make Spinach Rice
A flavorful and nutritious rice dish packed with spinach and aromatic spices.
Serves:
Ingredients
- 2 cups of basmati rice
- 4 cups of water
- 2 tbsp of olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 tsp of cumin powder
- 1 tsp of coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp of red chili powder
- Salt to taste
- 2 cups of spinach leaves, chopped
Instructions

Rinse the basmati rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Set aside.

Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Cook until they turn translucent.

Add the cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, and red chili powder. Stir well for a minute.

Add the chopped spinach leaves and cook until they wilt.

Add the rinsed basmati rice, water, and salt. Stir well and bring to a boil.

Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and let it simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the rice is cooked and the water is absorbed.

Fluff the rice with a fork and serve hot.
