How To Make Slow Cooker Turkey Breasts with Wine & Bacon

Tender turkey breasts cooked in a slow cooker with a rich wine and bacon sauce.

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 2 turkey breasts, bone-in and skin-on
  • 6 slices of bacon, chopped
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 cup of dry white wine
  • 1 cup of chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon of Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon of fresh thyme leaves
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Season the turkey breasts with salt and pepper.

  2. In a large skillet, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove the bacon from the skillet and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.

  3. In the same skillet, cook the onion and garlic until softened.

  4. Stir in the wine, chicken broth, Dijon mustard, and fresh thyme leaves. Simmer for 5 minutes.

  5. Place the turkey breasts in the slow cooker and pour the wine and bacon mixture over the top.

  6. Cook on low heat for 6 hours, or until the turkey is cooked through and tender.

  7. Remove the turkey from the slow cooker and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing. Serve with the sauce from the slow cooker.
