How To Make Malt Loaf Recipe

Ingredients

  • 150g malt extract
  • 150g self-raising flour
  • 75g raisins
  • 75g currants
  • 75g chopped dates
  • 50g unsalted butter, melted
  • 50g dark brown sugar
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 75ml milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 160°C/320°F and grease a loaf tin.

  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the malt extract, self-raising flour, raisins, currants, dates, melted butter, dark brown sugar, beaten egg, and milk. Mix well until fully combined.

  3. Pour the mixture into the greased loaf tin and smooth the surface.

  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour and 20 minutes, or until a skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.

  5. Remove the loaf from the oven and allow it to cool in the tin for 10 minutes. Then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
