  • 1 1/2 cups almond flour
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 tsp almond extract
  • pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (163°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. In a large bowl, whisk together almond flour and powdered sugar until well combined.

  3. In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites until frothy. Gradually add in granulated sugar and continue beating until stiff peaks form.

  4. Gently fold the egg whites into the almond flour mixture until fully incorporated. Be careful not to overmix.

  5. Stir in almond extract and salt.

  6. Using a piping bag or teaspoon, drop rounded mounds of the batter onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 1 inch apart.

  7. Bake for 12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown. The centers will still be slightly soft.

  8. Allow the macaroons to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
