  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp caraway seeds
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 egg

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 8-inch round cake pan.

  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and caraway seeds.

  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, vegetable oil, and egg.

  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture and stir until just combined.

  5. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.

  6. Bake for 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  7. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
