How To Make English Scones with Clotted Cream and Jam
Delicious scones served with creamy clotted cream and fruity jam, a quintessential British afternoon tea treat!

Ingredients
- 225g self-raising flour
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 55g unsalted butter, cubed
- 25g caster sugar
- 150ml whole milk
- 1 egg, beaten
- Clotted cream and jam to serve
Instructions

Preheat oven to 220°C/200°C fan/gas mark 7.

In a mixing bowl, sift in the flour and salt. Rub in the butter with your fingertips until the mix resembles breadcrumbs.

Add in the caster sugar and mix.

Pour in the milk and mix with a knife until the dough is formed.

Place onto a floured surface and press out to a thickness of 2cm.

Use a round cutter to cut out 6 scones. Place them on a lined baking tray.

Brush the scones with the beaten egg.

Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.

Allow to cool on a wire rack.

Split the scones and serve with clotted cream and jam.
