  • 2 prickly pears, peeled and cubed
  • 4 ounces tequila
  • 2 ounces lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons agave syrup
  • Ice cubes
  • Lime wedges, for garnish
  • Salt or sugar for rimming glasses, optional

Instructions

  1. In a blender, puree the prickly pear cubes until smooth.

  2. Strain the puree through a fine-mesh sieve into a pitcher to remove any seeds or pulp.

  3. Add the tequila, lime juice, and agave syrup to the pitcher and stir well.

  4. Rim glasses with salt or sugar, if desired.

  5. Fill each glass with ice cubes.

  6. Pour the prickly pear mixture over the ice and garnish with lime wedges.

  7. Stir gently and serve immediately.
