Serves:
Ingredients
- 1 cup polenta
- 4 cups water
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 4 sausages, sliced
- 2 cups chicory, chopped
- 1/2 cup black olives, sliced
- 1 cup shredded cheese (Gruyere or Mozzarella)
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Instructions
-
In a large saucepan, bring water to a boil. Gradually whisk in the polenta and salt. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
-
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a tart or pie dish.
-
In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced sausages and cook until browned. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
-
In the same skillet, add the chopped chicory and cook until wilted. Remove from heat.
-
In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked polenta, sausages, chicory, black olives, and half of the shredded cheese. Stir until well mixed.
-
Pour the mixture into the greased tart or pie dish. Smooth the top with a spoon. Sprinkle the remaining shredded cheese on top.
-
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until the cheese is melted and the tart is golden brown.
-
Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes. Serve warm or at room temperature. Season with freshly ground black pepper, if desired.
