How To Make Bread Pudding

A great way to use up your stale bread! This incredibly tasty and hearty recipe for bread pudding is so easy to make that it'll only take little under an hour! A wonderful meal on its own, this pudding has an incredibly light crust, with a creamy and rich interior for that fantastic blend of textures. Add to that a scrumptious sauce to go along with the tasty pudding.

  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 5 eggs, beaten
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 cups bread cube
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup pecans, chopped

The sauce:

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup butter, melted
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup brandy


  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 13x9x2-inch pan.

  2. Mix together granulated sugar, eggs, and milk in a bowl; add vanilla.
  3. Pour over cubed bread and let sit for 10 minutes.
  4. In another bowl, mix and crumble together brown sugar, butter, and pecans.
  5. Pour bread mixture into prepared pan.
  6. Sprinkle brown sugar mixture over the top and bake for 35 to 45 minutes, or until set.
  7. Remove from the oven.

For the sauce:

  1. Mix the granulated sugar, butter, egg, and vanilla in a saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Slowly add brandy.
  3. Pour on top of bread pudding.
