Ingredients

  • 2 medium-sized apples, peeled and diced
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup toffee bits
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 package (17.3 oz) puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the diced apples, brown sugar, toffee bits, cinnamon, and nutmeg until well coated.

  3. Roll out the puff pastry and cut into 4 equal squares.

  4. Place a spoonful of the apple mixture in the center of each square. Fold over to form a triangle and seal the edges with a fork.

  5. Brush the turnovers with the beaten egg.

  6. Place the turnovers on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.

  8. Allow to cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar.
