How To Make Pork & Rabbit Pie

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1 pound pork shoulder, diced
  • 1 pound rabbit meat, diced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 carrots, diced
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 sheets of pre-made pie crust

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. In a large pan, heat some oil and sear the pork and rabbit meat until browned. Remove from the pan and set aside.

  3. In the same pan, sauté the onion and garlic until softened.

  4. Add the carrots and peas to the pan and cook for a few minutes.

  5. Sprinkle the flour over the vegetables and stir well.

  6. Slowly pour in the chicken broth and stir until the mixture thickens.

  7. Return the pork and rabbit meat to the pan and season with salt and pepper.

  8. Cook for an additional 5 minutes, then remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

  9. Line a pie dish with one sheet of pie crust, then pour in the meat mixture.

  10. Cover with the second sheet of pie crust and seal the edges.

  11. Make a few small slits on top for steam to escape.

  12. Bake in the preheated oven for about 1 hour, or until the crust is golden brown.

  13. Allow the pie to cool for a few minutes before serving.
