Serves:
Ingredients
- 250g minced lamb
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- 1/2 tsp ground paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 6 sheets of filo pastry
- Olive oil for brushing
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a baking sheet.
-
In a pan, heat some olive oil and sauté the onions until translucent. Add the garlic and minced lamb, cooking until the lamb is browned.
-
Stir in the ground cumin, coriander, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook for another 2-3 minutes to let the flavors meld together. Remove from heat and set aside.
-
Lay out one sheet of filo pastry and lightly brush it with olive oil. Place another sheet on top and repeat the process until you have three layers of pastry.
-
Cut the layered pastry sheets into 4 equal squares.
-
Spoon a portion of the minced lamb mixture onto the center of each square, leaving a border around the edges.
-
Fold the corners of the pastry squares towards the center, creating a tart shape. Brush the edges with olive oil to secure the folds.
-
Place the tarts on the prepared baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and crispy.
-
Remove from the oven and let the tarts cool for a few minutes before serving.
