Ingredients

  • 4 ripe bananas
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup almond milk
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Vegan chocolate chips, for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Peel and slice the ripe bananas. Place them in a ziplock bag and freeze for at least 2 hours.

  2. Remove the frozen banana slices from the freezer and let them thaw for about 5 minutes.

  3. In a blender or food processor, add the thawed banana slices, cocoa powder, almond milk, maple syrup, and vanilla extract. Blend until smooth and creamy.

  4. If desired, stir in vegan chocolate chips for added texture.

  5. Serve immediately as soft-serve ice cream, or transfer to a sealed container and freeze for an additional 2 hours for a firmer texture.

  6. Before serving, let the ice cream soften for a few minutes. Scoop into bowls or cones and enjoy!
