Ingredients

  • 4 apples
  • 1 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup of unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup of heavy cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry the apples. Remove the stems and insert a popsicle stick into the top of each apple.

  2. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the sugar, cream, vanilla extract, and salt.

  3. Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring constantly. Continue cooking for about 10 minutes or until the caramel reaches a deep golden brown color.

  4. Remove the caramel from heat and let it cool slightly.

  5. Dip each apple into the caramel, turning to coat evenly. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet to cool and harden.
