How To Make Marshmallow Fondant

This homemade fondant is perfect for cake decorations with a soft and sweet marshmallow flavor.

Ingredients

  • 160g mini marshmallows
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 450g powdered sugar
  • vegetable shortening

Instructions

  1. In a microwave-safe bowl, heat marshmallows and water for 30 seconds. Stir and continue microwaving at 15-second intervals until completely melted.

  2. Stir in vanilla extract.

  3. In a separate bowl, sift powdered sugar and make a well in the center.

  4. Pour the melted marshmallow mixture into the powdered sugar well and stir until well combined.

  5. On a generously powdered surface, knead the mixture and add vegetable shortening as needed to prevent sticking.

  6. Roll out the fondant and use as desired for decorations.
