How To Make Gingerbread Man

Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp ground ginger
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp ground cloves
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 1 egg
Instructions

In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, baking soda, and salt.

In a separate large bowl, cream together butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.

Beat in molasses and egg.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

Divide the dough in half and wrap each half in plastic wrap. Chill for at least 2 hours.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Roll out the chilled dough on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness.

Use gingerbread man-shaped cookie cutters to cut out shapes. Place on the prepared baking sheet.

Bake for 8-10 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.

Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Decorate with icing, candies, or sprinkles if desired.
